Nili-Ravi Buffalo originates in Punjab region. It is basically cross breed version of Nili and Ravi species of buffaloes. It has large and staring eyes and has white markings on its tail, legs, face and muzzle. Per lactation period, it produces 1586 kg to 1929 kg milk. Nili-Ravi Buffalo is notable for its heavy head shape with convex center. Medium sized body structure, long tail and curled horn are some important characteristics of this species of buffalo. Height of its female and male is 130 cm and 140 cm respectively. Its lactation period lasts for 300 days. Female buffalo of this breed reaches maturity in 3 years.
